Schutt Sports Mouth Guard
Schutt Mouth Guard
There will always be a risk of injury when playing football. But as research and technology continue to advance, we continue to find new ways to minimize that risk. Schutt partnered with us to improve an aspect of football safety that has gone relatively unchanged for decades – the mouthguard.
In addition to protecting teeth from heavy impacts, mouthguards also protect against concussions, as blows to the jaw are involved in a significant portion of football head injuries. Working with physicians, players and coaches revealed an innovation opportunity for a superior mouthguard that could improve protection and player performance.
We collaborated with a physician to develop a mouthguard that enhances oxygen intake for players without losing any of its protective strength. The size of the mouthguard keeps the player’s mouth at an optimal height for esophageal airspace while offset vents in the front of the mouthguard allow for maximum oxygen intake and carbon dioxide release.
Given an edgy aesthetic, top of the line protective strength and performance improvement technology, the Schutt ION Mouthguard became the most advanced mouthguard available.
