Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club – Program Branding

Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club (HHBGC) inspires and enables youths aged 6-18 to realize their potential to be productive, responsible, caring and active citizens in their community. A nationally recognized program, HHBGC wanted to increase local awareness of their purpose by rebranding the five program areas of their Youth Development Strategy in new marketing campaigns.

The five areas of their Youth Development Strategy are Character and Leader Development, Education and Career Development, Health and Life Skills, The Arts and Sports and Fitness and Recreation. Given the wide range of these areas, HHBGC asked us to create iconography for each area that would quickly communicate their function.

Inspired by the organization’s purpose, we created logos that invoke the notion of moving forward and up. The icons for each program are part of a family but clearly portray the different objectives of each program area. Our icons were used on marketing materials, internal reports and more to distinguish each program area while calling them back to the organization as a whole.
