WORK & CASE STUDIES
A common request from our clients is to design something that will stand out in the marketplace. Not as common is the request to design a product that will completely blend in. That’s what Bushnell Optics wanted when they asked us to design a rifle optic for an AR-15 platform. The goal was to make the accessory look “at home” on top of an AR-15 and similar to other AR accessories.
We looked at the lines and the aesthetics of the AR and other leading accessories in the market. Observing a trend of successful technological designs, we developed a rifle optic that fit the bill perfectly.
As we tend to do, we also looked for new ways to modernize and improve the product category. With the knowledge that optics are usually adjusted while the user is wearing gloves, we adjusted the ergonomics of the optic to make adjustments more glove-friendly. This addition became a major selling point for the product.
The finished product was so well-perceived that Bushnell elevated it from the entry-level Tasco line of products to their higher price-point Simmons line of products.
